It's the third of my eight day series where I rank a group of eight historical figures on a scale of S to D (superb to terrible) based on how well they succeeded in their duties and/or goals, their skill in battle, and by what we know (if anything) about their general personalities as normal … Continue reading Ranking History: The Wars of the Roses Historical Figures: Queen Margaret

Ranking History: The Wars of the Roses Historical Figures: Henry VI
Most of us have probably seen those reels or videos of people ranking objects, people, or things as crazy as personality types on a scale of S-D (S being superb and D being the worst). It's like the five star rating system for anything other than physical products, but like the star system, it's all … Continue reading Ranking History: The Wars of the Roses Historical Figures: Henry VI

Book Review: The White Knights
Today's book review is going to be a bit different than my usual ones--shorter and less detailed. Inspiring Events: The White Ship Disaster

Caught … Continue reading Medieval Book Review: Of Flaw and Scorn
Medieval Heirs: Robert Curthose
Last month, I introduced my new series Inspiring Events to you. Today's new series which I am excited to present to you, Medieval Heirs (Who Never Ruled), is similar to that series, except that it is going to be focusing on medieval British heirs to the throne who never ruled, whether from a premature death, … Continue reading Medieval Heirs: Robert Curthose
Medieval Book Review: Rising to the Challenge
When this blog was in it's infancy (way back in early 2022) I wrote the first of my monthly book reviews on To Birmingham Castle by Alicia Willis, an indie published medieval Christian book which caught my attention on Goodreads. It earned a 4/5 stars from me, and I decided to read on in the … Continue reading Medieval Book Review: Rising to the Challenge
Inspiring Events: The Chamberpot Affair
We all know the typical events for starting a war or rebellion: over-taxation, an assassination, or political corruption. But did you ever hear about the prank which caused a rebellion? While it has no official name, for today's post, I am calling it "The Chamberpot Affair", and it is one of my favorite medieval events.
