My Name as an Acronym of Some of My Favorite Characters

Hey everyone! Today I decided to do a random post of making an acronym of my name using some characters from books or games which I like. I’m sure some other people have done this before but I thought of it this morning and thought it would be kinda fun to try! Basically for each letter of my name, I’ll list a character who’s name has that letter as their first letter of their name, and tell a little bit about why I like them and the book/game they’re in.

I’ll be doing my author name “Kay Adelin” for this post, so let’s start!

K – Kent Carlton from “The Restitution” by MaryLu Tyndall

Actually, The Restitution is the third book in this Christian Pirate series by MaryLu Tyndall, and Kent is a villain in the first two. In this story, he finally gets his redemption arch, and I really loved seeing how far he’s come, from being a villainous pirate to desiring to serve God with his life and take care of his family. If you enjoy pirate and sea stories, I’d definitely recommend you give this series a try!

A – Anne Shirley from “Anne of Green Gables” by L. M. Montgomery

I couldn’t get too far without mentioning the legendary Anne Shirley from the Anne of Green Gables series! The Anne books were some of the first books to get me interested in writing, and Anne is such an enjoyable character to read. She’s always getting into scrapes, speaks her mind, has a bit of a temper, but really just wants to be loved and accepted at heart. I always enjoyed all the drama surrounding her red hair and hey, she likes the Lady of Shalott story (which is part of the legends of King Arthur). What’s not to like? I’d highly recommend the book series and the first two Anne movies with Megan Follows.

Y – Sir Ywain from The Legends of King Arthur

Guys, this one was SO HARD to find a character for. Thankfully I remembered one of the King Arthur knights had a name beginning with Y. Actually in the version I read, his name is spelled “Uwain”, but “Ywain” is another way to spell it. He is one of King Arthur’s nephews, Morgan Le Fay’s son. He’s cousins with the more popular Orkney brothers, Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris, Gareth, and Mordred, but actually seems to have more of a head on his shoulders than most of them. Though he’s not my all time favorite King Arthur character, he is in my top ten, especially due to his close companionship with his cousin Gawain.

A – “Aaron” from Rune Factory 2

This character is from probably my second or third favorite game of all time, Rune Factory 2. He’s actually one of the three playable characters in the game, therefore you can name him whatever you want, but his default name is Aaron. He’s my favorite character in the game for multiple reasons; first is, he’s adorable haha! Second has to do with the plot of the game. Basically, the game is split into two parts, the first generation part, and the second generation part. In the first generation, you play as Aaron’s (or, if you pick a girl, Aria’s) dad. Then, when you unlock the second and main plot of the game, you play as the kid (Aaron or Aria), who is trying to track down the dad who had to leave suddenly to save the town and disappeared. In all it’s a super cute game about a kid trying to find his/her father and bring their family back together, and I just love that plot.

D – Daniel from the Bible

Daniel is my all-time favorite Biblical character. Not only did he write some pretty impressive end-times prophecies, but I always admired him for his ability to stand alone as a youth in the midst of a worldly society. As a young person myself living in a clearly messed up world, Daniel and his friends’ courage and ability to stand alone, even while they were basically slaves in a foreign land, has encouraged me countless times to do what is right regardless of what the world around me thinks. All four of them received persecution, and all four of them were willing to die for their faith, but God rescued them all. And I know He will do the same for me.

E – Edmund Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia

Honestly, I really like all the Pevensie children in the books, but in the Narnia movies, Edmund is my favorite because of his sass. I especially like his character in the Prince Caspian movie, as it shows him learning from his mistakes of the previous film and remaining humble, because he knows the dangers of temptation and the price one has to pay for it. Of course, I’d definitely recommend reading the books and watching the films as well, as they all have good things in them!

L – Leader Eagle from my own story

Yeah, I decided to slip in my current favorite character in my work-in-progress. The picture is his collage I made for him, and I purposefully made it mysterious because his true identity is one of the main mysteries in my story. Leader Eagle is my secondary villain, but also the greater threat to the main characters. However, he is my favorite character because he’s just so complex. He doesn’t believe he’s a villain, and honestly, in some ways, he’s not wrong. It’s all in how one looks at it. He’s got a variety of positive and negative traits, and his sass and unconventional way of thinking is one of my favorite things to write. Also he’s my personality, so I can somewhat relate to him (not in the villainous way, though) so that could be another reason he’s my favorite.

I – Izana Wistaria from Snow White With the Red Hair by Sorata Akiduki

This is an unpopular opinion, but Izana Wistaria is my favorite character in the manga series Snow White With the Red Hair by Sorata Akiduki. Some people don’t like him since he’s like the main antagonist standing in the way of Zen and Shirayuki’s relationship, but in my eyes, he’s just trying to look out for his little brother, especially in light of the flashback scenes showing Izana’s character before. He comes across looking sneaky and selfish but in reality he truly cares for others, especially Zen. He has to make sure Shirayuki will be able to handle the pressures of living as a princess after being a commoner for so long, and that Zen too is responsible enough to care for his duties and protect Shirayuki. In my eyes he wants them to prove to him they can handle their choices so he can give them his approval. Also his one liners in the anime especially are hilarious, I cracked up at a few of them.

N – Nadi from Story of Seasons

For some reason, this initial was the hardest for me to find a character name for. Apparently I don’t read too many books where characters I like have N names (or I’m forgetting since I’ve read so many books…). So I picked a character from another video game, Story of Seasons. Actually this character in and of himself personality wise isn’t my favorite, however I do like him. I think his appearance is very unique, and I love the contrast of the light hair with the darker skin. I also love his name. It’s served as inspiration for a few characters in role plays I’ve done with others, with one of those said characters being my all time favorite role play character I’ve ever created. And the game itself is a really fun farming simulator. The characters are all different and unique, and the town is fun to explore. If you like farming simulators with slice-of-life moments, you’ll probably like this game too!

So that’s it! Do any of you know these characters? Who is your favorite Bible character? Who’s your favorite character in your story? Let me know in the comments below! God bless and thanks for reading! ~ Kay Adelin
