I apologize for the lateness of this post, but it is still October 14th, which is the 960th anniversary of The Battle of Hastings. For those who don't know, this battle was when William the Conqueror defeated Harold Godwinson for the throne of England. Because of this, I thought it would be fitting to share … Continue reading Medieval Writing Contest Winner: The Truth in Silence by Journey Bloomfield
This Christian Historical Romance had tropes I both loved and hated, making for a wild read!
I'm looking for short stories with some type of medieval element to them! It can be anything from a contemporary mentioning medieval history, a historical short, or a King-Arthur retelling; just give me all your medieval stories!
Today is the first writing related post I’ve done since my blog switched to focus on medieval things at the beginning of this year. However, I am going to be doing this tag for my medieval romantasy which I’m currently querying, so it’s technically medieval, right? A big thanks to Hallie Kropf and Hannah Ruth … Continue reading My Character’s Theme Songs Tag
Today, I'm honored to be sharing an interview with author Sydney Witbeck, and introduce her newest book, The Faithful Exile, a nordic inspired Christian medieval fantasy! A huge thanks to Sydney for being willing to do this and be my guinea pig for my first ever author interview! Today, I'm sharing my review on Jane's Secret by Jennifer Tirrell as a part of JustRead Tours's bookstagram tour. Even though the time period wasn't technically medieval, (it's in the Tudor era) it looked really good, so I knew I had to give it a try! The Synopsis (Taken from Goodreads): As a young lady … Continue reading Book Review: Jane’s Secret
Today's book review is going to be a bit different than my usual ones--shorter and less detailed. This is in part due to the fact that I have two (if not three) books I need to read and review in mid-June on the blog, and I am trying to dedicate my time to those books. … Continue reading Book Review: The White Knights
I'm honored to be sharing my review on Vera Bell's Christian Viking Historical Fiction novel, Of Flaw and Scorn. Upon seeing that JustReads Tours was hosting a bookstagram tour for it and reading the synopsis, I knew I had to be a part of this. The Synopsis (Taken from Goodreads): Irish coast, 795 A.D. When this blog was in it's infancy (way back in early 2022) I wrote the first of my monthly book reviews on To Birmingham Castle by Alicia Willis, an indie published medieval Christian book which caught my attention on Goodreads. It earned a 4/5 stars from me, and I decided to read on in the … Continue reading Medieval Book Review: Rising to the Challenge
I discovered The Thief's Keeper when a friend tagged me in a post by the author, Ms. Kyrie Wang, on Instagram. Upon seeing she wrote medieval historical fantasy, I signed up for her newsletter, and as a gift for signing up, I received this novella, which I devoured in only a few days. (And yes, … Continue reading Medieval Book Review: The Thief’s Keeper
