Hey everyone! I’m back with a Holiday-themed tag this time! I was tagged by Hannah over at Faith, Fiction, and Fairytales, so go check her out for some great writing, faith, and bookish content!

The Rules
- Link to the original post.
- Credit the person who tagged you. (Thanks, Hannah!)
- Tag one 1-3 more bloggers.
1. When do you consider the holiday season officially started?
November 1st. I know there’s a lot of haters out there who get annoyed with people who put up Christmas decor or listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but I’ve got a large house and tons of decor so I’ve got to start early. Besides, one can still enjoy Thanksgiving with Christmas decor up!
2. What’s your favorite thing about winter?
The snow! I love snow, it’s so pretty and it reminds me of Christmas.
3. What’s your least favorite thing about winter?
Probably the snow and ice on the roads, and when it gets bitter, bitter cold. I can handle some cold with snow, but when it gets into the single digits or lower, especially when accompanied by wind, that gets annoying fast.
4. What do you like to do in the snow?
Well, if I get all my snow gear on, it’s fun to try to build igloos or forts. When my kitties were outside, I made them a tunnel and things, so that was super fun too.
5. What’s your favorite holiday tradition?
Honestly, my favorite has to be watching the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. I don’t know why, but I love it.
6. How do you usually celebrate Thanksgiving?
Typically we go over to my grandma’s, help make the traditional dinner, eat, then hang out for a bit before going home.
7. How do you usually celebrate Christmas?
Usually on Christmas morning, I have Orange Rolls with my parents and brother, then we go to my grandma’s house for lunch. She always has A Christmas Story playing non-stop on the tv. After we eat lunch and clean up, then it becomes time to open presents. Us grandkids go first, then she goes, then our parents. Finally we do stockings and then just sit around and talk or watch tv until it’s time to go home.
8. What’s your favorite type of pie?
Well, I don’t like pie at all. So I have no favorite.
9. What’s your fave winter/Christmas-themed emoji?
Hmmm… probably this guy:
⛄️⛄️⛄️
Though I also like the Christmas tree and presents.
10. What’s your favorite Christmas song?
Well, five years ago, I would have said the Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but now it’s this instrumental orchestra Christmas song melody:
If we’re talking an actual lyrical Christmas Song, it would be O Come All Ye Faithful by Josh Groban:
11. Do you have a Christmas tree? If so how do you like to decorate it?
We have SEVEN Christmas trees (one nine footer, one seven footer, two five footers, two three footers, and a baby one footer tree. We also have two other random everyday trees we decorate and I helped my grandma with her three trees so… I’m becoming an expert at trees, haha!). One of our trees is all bulbs with the occasional shiny random object hidden within it (like a couple giant bells). One is a silver and white tree, while another is a pure gold one. One is a vintage tree with all sorts of old random decorations. The baby tree just is covered in tiny bulbs. And the last two trees are my brother’s and mine, so we decorate them with whatever our personal ornaments are. Mine has a lot of nutcrackers on it.
12. What’s one gift you would like to receive for Christmas this year?
Do I have to choose one? I’ll be vague and say a book. Or a video game. The TV I asked for would be cool too. Really there’s not one thing I want over everything else this year.
13. Would you rather host a holiday party or go to someone else’s?
Depends. If I knew everyone coming, I’d want to go to someone else’s since I’d have less work (and I already have a ton of work around the holidays so it’d just be easier). If I didn’t… yeah, obviously I’d have it at my place so I could control the invitees, haha! Though if I’m being entirely honest, (and my introvertness is showing here) I’d rather not go to a holiday party at all. Just stay at home with my family and kitties and chill.
14. What’s your favorite Christmas movie?
It’s a Wonderful Life. Hands down the best Christmas movie ever. I like Home Alone 2 a lot too.
15. What do you like to do on New Year’s Eve?
I like to stay up until midnight at least. Sometimes we watch a special church service. One year, we watched Star Wars, which was cool.
16. Have you ever stayed up til midnight?
Staying up till midnight is like, an every day occurrence for me. I’m a severe night owl.
17. Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions?
I don’t usually do them except for in regards to my blog and reading, actually. Sometimes I make writing goals, but typically those are more personal on-off goals, not like yearly goals.
18. As of now, have you kept any of yours from 2024?
Let’s see…
- Read fifteen books — I read nineteen so far, so yay.
- Write one blog post a week — Failed miserably here. However, since May, many things have changed in my life, thus why next year’s blogging schedule will be notably lighter.
- Read the books on my reading list — I didn’t read all of them. I subbed out a lot. And the last three months I’ve been in a reading slump thanks to this one book I’m determined to trudge through.
- Finish my Writing the 16 Personalities series — Nope, haha. But I intend on doing more of those next year, so keep an eye out for them!
- Finish editing people’s stories — I did accomplish all the stories I needed to finish editing for people, so yay!
19. How long do you get off of school for winter break?
Heh. I’m no longer in school, so I don’t get a break. In fact, my work load has only grown since the holidays started coming up.
20. Overall, how much do you love the holiday season on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst part of the year 10 being absolutely amazing)?
Well… I’d have to say 7-8. Only due to the occasional family drama and now that I work retail… the stories are real, man. It’s terrible. But I’ll survive!
And my lucky tag-ees!

And anyone else who wants to take a stab at this!
Thank you all for reading! If you weren’t tagged and don’t want to do make an entire blog post on these answers but still want to share them, feel free to drop them in the comments! I love hearing about everyone’s favorite holiday traditions and what they like (and dislike!) about winter! God bless, and have a Merry Christmas! ~ Kay Adelin
