Hey everyone! I was tagged back in April by Hannah over at Faith, Fiction, & Fairytales, so a huge shoutout and thank you to her! She has some awesome writing content, so go check her out!

The Rules:
- Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog. (Done!)
- Thank the person who nominated you. (Thanks again, Hannah!)
- Provide a link to your nominator’s blog. (Faith, Fiction, & Fairytales)
- Answer your nominator’s questions.
- Nominate up to 11 bloggers. (Eh, probably not happening due to me not knowing many other bloggers XD)
- Ask your nominees 11 questions.
- Notify your nominees by commenting on at least one of their blog posts.
So here it goes!
1. If you could pick three words to describe yourself, what would they be and why?
Hmm, that’s tricky. Introverted, Christian, and writer are the first three that come to mind. Cat-lover was fourth. Introverted obviously because I’m kinda a loner and get my energy from alone time. Christian because I am who God says I am, and a follower of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. And writer because that is what I spend most of my free time doing, and it’s what I want to do for a living.
2. What book do you return to time and again?
Oh boy. Well, besides the Bible, there’s only a few books that are good enough to warrant a re-read. Here are a few of them!
- A Lost Pearle by Mrs. Georgie Sheldon
- The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope
- Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan
- The Secret Bridge by Amy Le Feuvre
- Rilla of Ingleside by L. M. Montgomery
3. What is your favorite book to shove into people’s hands?
Well, besides the Bible, one book I’ve liked to give to people is The Honorable Imposter by Gilbert Morris. It’s a fun historical fiction story about the Pilgrims told from a Christian perspective, and there’s forty more books in the series following this book’s MC’s family line and major events in American history.
I also enjoy giving people different books from Lamplighter Ministries too!
4. Which season is your favorite? Why?
Winter, hands down. Because it’s not hot, there’s snow and Christmas, there’s no yard work, no bugs, and so much more time for other things. (As you may be able to tell, I am not an outdoors-woman.)
5. What book character reminds you the most of yourself?
If this was characters in my own story, I could name a few, but in other literature… honestly, I can really only think of one character off the top of my head (but I know there’s more). Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. He’s actually my personality type, and his quietness, perceived arrogance, struggle with talking to people outside of his own circle, and somewhat density towards romance is all very relatable to myself. I also relate to his dislike of things that appear to be improper.
6. In a moment of dire need, you raid the refrigerator. What food item do you grab first?
I have no idea, haha! I’m such a picky eater and have discovered a few food sensitivities I have, so honestly I don’t know. Apple juice for a drink, but I’m not sure for a food. Maybe a Lunchable. Love those things!
7. Outside of reading or writing, what is a hobby you enjoy, and how were you introduced to it?
I really enjoy drawing manga, coloring (coloring books and my own drawings) and gaming. I was introduced to manga through playing video games who used the animated version of manga (called anime) for their character art. For my very first manga drawing ever I chose to draw the Teen Male Child from Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. He’s so cute!
After that, I started practicing drawing manga and have gotten pretty decent at people, although sometimes I still have issues with expressions and stuff. I’ve also played with computerized art too, taking my drawings and coloring them in on a computer program to make them look like digital art.
8. What is your go-to board or card game with a group of friends or family?
We have so many games, there’s not really a specific go-to. I do like Apples-to-Apples, Old Maid, and Yahtzee though. But I’m pretty much game with anything except Euchre, which I hate.
9. Science or history?
History, no question.
10. If you could take a course on any obscure topic you pleased, what would you pick?
Medieval history, hands down. If I had to narrow it down to something even more obscure… probably British heirs to the throne who never got to rule, whether through sicknesses leading to death, other siblings getting in the way, freak accidents, betrayal, or murder.
11. If your readers take away only one thing from your blog, what do you want it to be?
Honestly, it would be that they would find the answers to whatever question they were looking for when my blog popped up in their search results. If someone was just scrolling through and found my blog, however, it would probably be that they are encouraged in the Lord and their writing (assuming they’re a writer) and/or find some good, clean reads that they will enjoy.
My Eleven Seven Nominees*
*ignore if you’ve already been nominated

- Who is your least favorite character in a book, and why? (Feel free to rant, lol!)
- What is your favorite literary trope? Is there a book you’ve read that has it in it?
- If you’re a writer, do you find something (a trope, concept, theme) that seems to appear in everything you’ve written/are writing? If you’re not a writer, do you find one of these things in books you’ve read that you enjoyed?

Thanks for reading! ~ Kay

Yay!! I’m so glad you got around to doing this one! Love your answers too!
Apples to Apples is SUCH a fun game with friends… and also… Mr. Darcy is the best, so you shall be perceived as arrogant no longer 😉
Love this confidence: “Christian because I am who God says I am.” That’s such a great way to put it!
