Hey everyone! I’m back with the options for July’s book! In July, I’m always busy because not only is it summer, but most of my family and a ton of friends have birthdays that month. So it’s always pretty crazy, thus why I tend to read shorter books for that month! Therefore, I have five short stories for you all to vote on to let me know which one I should read!
Choice #1: Enjoy the Poodle Skirt by Kate Willis

Rule one: Keep your hands clean.
Rule two: Careful with the food trays.
Rule three: Visit the soda fountain as often as you like, but don’t make yourself sick.
Rule four: Enjoy the poodle skirt.
Canary is excited to spend a whole week helping her newlywed aunt and uncle run a 50’s diner along with her older siblings Rose and Michael. Even the rules for working there are fun!
But when a routine cleanup presents a mysterious, hand-drawn map, her vacation gets even more exciting than a banana split with hot fudge sauce. And that’s saying a lot!
This looks like a cute and fun short story! The main characters are homeschooled kids, which will be neat to read since I’ve only read one other book series about homeschooled kids. Also I really like the 50s swing dresses and skirts!
Choice #2: Debt of Mercy by Amanda Tero

Raboc’s eyes narrowed to slits and he thrust his arm forward until his fingers closed around Ancel’s throat. The young man knew better than to resist the powerful lord, but his jaw clenched.
“To the dungeon with you. Guards!”
“Lord, have mercy,” Ancel pleaded. “Give me time and I shall pay the other half.”
This is a short retelling of the Biblical parable of the two debtors, which looks really interesting! I am definitely curious as to how the author expanded on the story!
Choice #3: CinderEddy by Kendra Ardnek

Edward, called CinderEddy by his stepbrothers, has been treated as little more than a servant ever since his mother died after her remarriage. When the Princess Elicia is kidnapped, however, his stepbrothers join the other knights attempting to rescue her, and Edward uses their absence to make his own attempt at her rescue. He doesn’t expect to succeed, but somehow, he keeps finding himself on the right path.
This looks like an interesting twist on the classic Cinderella story. It’ll be interesting to see how the author plays out the “what if Cinderella was a boy” retelling!
Choice #4: The Little Medicine Carrier by Charlotte Grace O’Brien
The Little Medicine Carrier is the story of a small, poor boy named George, who seeks to help his mother provide for the family by taking a job delivering medicines for the town doctor to the ill people of his village. His journeys about town become quite adventurous, as George meets some who inspire him to serve God more faithfully, and others who press him to yield to temptations to be deceitful and dishonest. A great story to teach your children about the value of integrity and faithfulness, even when no men are watching us, but living under the eye of God.
I couldn’t get an image for this book, however it looks like a really sweet story with an important moral lesson!
Choice #5: Snow White With the Red Hair Vol 8

Shirayuki is an herbalist famous for her naturally bright-red hair, and the prince of Tanbarun wants her all to himself! The prince from the neighboring kingdom, Zen, rescues her from her plight, and thus begins their love story.
Shirayuki and Zen finally have “the talk” about their future together. Then, a heavy rain forces the party to take shelter at an inn after seeing off Sakaki. But just as night falls, Obi slips away!
So far I’ve really been enjoying this series! There’s not really any magic in them, despite it being set in a fantasy world, and that’s something I really like, and I like how most of the characters are portrayed! I definitely am keeping up with this series!
The day of the deadline, I’ll write the winning book in the comments!
Have you read any of these books? Do any of them look good to you? Let me know in the comments below! God bless! ~ Kay Adelin

Looks like Snow White With the Red Hair Vol 8 won the poll! However, I actually started that book before the poll closed, so I’m going to do Vol 9 instead!
